Withdrawal Protection is a security feature that imposes a 7-day waiting period for newly-added addresses. It can be toggled on or off independently of your Address Book.
- Go to the Settings in your Gemini account
- Choose Address Book
- Toggle on and off Withdrawal Protection
When enabled, it prevents crypto from leaving your Gemini account until a newly added address has been in your Address Book for at least 7 days. If you choose to disable it after it’s been turned on, an additional 7-day hold will apply before the change takes effect. Addresses that were added before enabling Withdrawal Protection remain usable immediately.
Note: Withdrawal Protection is an optional feature available to both Retail and Institutional* customers.
However, users with Custody™ accounts holding a non-zero balance cannot disable this feature.
*Institutional customers should contact Gemini Customer Support for assistance with disabling it.
