You can fund your Gemini account with fiat or crypto.
Note: The currency options available to you may be restricted based on your country of residence.
Fund with Fiat Currency
You can deposit funds with fiat currency by first linking your bank account. You can add your bank by navigating to the Payment Methods Page, then click on Add payment method.
If you are unable to link your bank account via Plaid or prefer not to use your online banking credentials to register your bank account, please exit the screen and navigate to Manually link bank and input your bank account information. Once your bank account information is set up, you can complete the bank verification process with a successful deposit from your bank account into your Gemini account. Please see How do I send a Wire or Bank Transfer? for wire instructions.
Settlement times are dependent on the currency, type of transfer, and location of the bank you’re sending from.
For USD, funds sent by wire transfer before 3pm ET will typically be available in your account the same day or next business day (though this may vary based on the internal processes of your bank). USD ACH bank transfer deposits are available for trading at our discretion. They will clear into your Gemini account and be available for withdrawal within four to five business days (read more about bank transfer deposits here).
To fund your account using Customers Bank Instant Token or CBIT™, read more here.
Fund with Crypto
Customers looking to deposit supported crypto will need to instruct their external wallet or the service provider that holds their crypto to initiate a withdrawal to their unique Gemini deposit address.
Note for UK customers: Starting from 17th November 2023, we are only able to accept deposits of currencies outside the BTC and ETH networks from self-hosted wallets. Additionally, from 8th December 2023, inbound transfers to Gemini from a non-TRUST VASP may result in temporary account restrictions. Find out more here.
