A derivatives enabled account is used primarily to trade derivatives products.

Customers cannot deposit or withdraw assets externally from a derivatives enabled account and must first open an exchange account with Gemini and then transfer assets to and from their derivatives account. 

Note that Customers cannot trade derivatives from their exchange account, however, it is possible to execute spot trades from their derivatives account. For non EU & EEA users these spot transactions are executed on the spot exchange operated by Gemini Trust Company LLC. For EU & EEA users these spot transactions are executed on the spot exchange operated by Gemini Intergalactic EU.
