Funds can be transferred into a derivatives account during the account's creation, via Gemini's web platform or Gemini's mobile app.
Account Creation
Non-EU and EEA customer view
You can transfer funds into your account after the account creation process if you have assets in your primary account.
EU and EEA Customer view
Web Platform
At any time you can also initiate a transfer to your account by hitting the “Transfer” button on the top right and select “Move between accounts”.
Mobile
- Press the "Account" button in the upper right-hand corner of the app.
- Select "Transfer ⇆".
- Choose the Exchange account you would like to transfer from, followed by the Derivatives account to receive the funds.
- Select the currency. In the example screenshot below GUSD is selected.
- Then enter the amount. In the example screenshot below 222 is entered as the amount. Note: If you are transferring fiat/stable coins, they will be converted to GUSD if you are a non EU & EEA customer or USDC if you are a customer based in the EU & EEA. If you are a EU & EEA, EUR funds will be converted to USDC.
- Review your transfer details and tap 'Confirm'.
