How can I find out the status of my credit card application?
If you applied online, you will get an answer usually within 60 seconds. In some cases, we will need additional information to process your application and will reach out to you via email or phone to collect this information.
How long will it take for my card to be mailed to me?
Your new card should arrive in the mail within 5-7 days of being approved for the account.
If I apply, will I get a metal card?
Yes, all approved accounts will have a metal card sent to them. After being approved, you can select from 3 card colors: black, silver or rose gold. For added security, we do not print your credit card number on the card, but you can access it by logging into your Gemini account and selecting "Card details".
Can I have my card mailed to a different address?
We will only mail your credit card to the address provided on your application. If you have established an account and if you need to update the address on the account, you can do that by logging into your Gemini account and going to the card settings tab.
How do I set up my online account access?
If you do not have an existing Gemini Exchange account, then when you apply for the card and are approved, we ask you to choose a password. This password is used to sign into your Gemini account where you can manage your credit card and access the Gemini Exchange account. The user name is the email address you used to apply for the Gemini Credit Card.
What is a Gemini Exchange account?
When you receive crypto rewards they are placed into a Gemini Exchange account. You can use this account to buy and sell additional crypto. You can sell your accrued crypto rewards for other crypto or US dollars that can be deposited into your bank checking or savings account.
What cryptocurrency do I earn rewards in?
During the application process you can choose to earn rewards in one of over 60 cryptocurrencies on the Gemini Platform. Only those cryptocurrencies available on the Gemini Platform may be selected. If you do not choose a cryptocurrency you will earn rewards in Bitcoin, which is the default cryptocurrency for the Gemini Credit Card.
Can I pre-qualify before applying for the Gemini Credit Card and will it impact my credit score?
You can quickly see if you are pre-qualified for the Gemini Credit Card with NO impact to your credit score. If you are pre-qualified, you will be asked for additional information, and Gemini, on behalf of WebBank, will make a hard inquiry of your credit report to provide you with a final decision. The hard inquiry can impact your credit score.
What does being pre-qualified mean?
This means you have taken the first steps to being approved and you are likely to be approved for the Gemini Credit Card. However, even if you are pre-qualified, this does not guarantee you will be approved.
How can I learn more about soft/hard inquiry on my credit report?
You can learn more by visiting Experian.com and searching for soft/hard inquiry.
Why was my application for a card declined/rejected?
After denial of credit, you will receive the reasoning for why your application was declined in an email.
Why was I declined for failure to identify?
We use several sources to verify identification and unfortunately we were not able to verify your identity with these sources. Based on regulatory requirements, if we are not able to verify your identity, we are not able to approve your application.
What if I am approved for the Credit Card but not for a Gemini Exchange account?
In order to be approved for a Gemini Credit Card you must also be approved for a Gemini Exchange account. If you do not have an existing Gemini Exchange account at the time of submitting your Gemini Credit Card application, we will run your application through both processes.
Can I appeal the reason for why my application was denied?
We realize being declined for the card is not what you hoped for, but we do not offer a process to appeal the decision. If you do this you will go through the application pre-qualification process again, which will not impact your credit score. If you pass pre-qualification, you are likely to be approved, but it does not guarantee you will be approved for the card. When you submit the full application at this stage Gemini, on behalf of WebBank, will perform a hard pull of your credit report. This can impact your credit score and be shown on your credit report.
Plaid Income Verification Troubleshooting
How do I connect my bank account using Plaid?
To securely connect your account:
- Select “Up to $5,000 credit limit, Additional income verification needed” to opt into sharing income information using Plaid Check
- Follow the on-screen prompts to securely link your bank account via Plaid
- Once connected, Plaid will share income information with Gemini. Based on this data, we will determine if you qualify for a higher credit limit
What should I do if I encounter an error while connecting to Plaid?
If you experience any issues while linking your account, please refer to Plaid Error Message for troubleshooting steps. Common solutions include:
- Ensuring your bank account login credentials are correct
- Checking if your financial institution is supported
- Verifying that your bank account allows third-party connections
If the issue persists, you may try again later or proceed with the original credit limit offer.
What if I don't want to share my income data?
Sharing your income data is optional. You can still proceed with the original credit limit that was initially offered to you. To do so, simply click "$ credit limit, No additional income verification needed" and continue with the existing terms without sharing your income data.
Credit Limit Approval: Approval for a higher credit limit is not guaranteed and is subject to review based on the income data provided. Gemini evaluates applications in compliance with the Equal Credit Opportunity Act (ECOA) and applicable lending regulations. Opting out of Plaid verification will not negatively impact your eligibility for a Gemini Credit Card, but your credit limit will be determined based on the original application criteria.
