Currently, we support multi-chain deposits and withdrawals for USDC, USDT, and ETH on various chains. See the table below for what assets can be deposited and withdrawn on what chain.
| Asset | Supported Networks for Deposit and Withdrawal |
| ETH | Ethereum, Optimism, Arbitrum, Base |
| USDC | Avalanche, Ethereum, Optimism, Arbitrum, Base, Solana, Polygon |
| USDT | Avalanche, Ethereum, Solana, Tron, Arbitrum, |
| RLUSD | Ethereum, XRPL |
What are the benefits of using Ethereum L2’s and alternate blockchains?
Using these Layer 2 networks or alternate chains often means lower transaction fees, faster deposit and withdrawal times, and easier management of your crypto.
What is a Layer 2 (L2) network?
L2 networks, like Optimism, Arbitrum, and Base, are designed to make Ethereum transactions faster and cheaper by processing transactions separately from Ethereum’s main network.
Solana and Avalanche are not a Layer 2 networks. They are separate high-performance blockchains — but they similarly enables fast, low-cost transfers for supported assets like USDC and USDT.
How do I deposit using one of these Ethereum L2’s or a blockchain other than Ethereum?
When depositing, choose your preferred network in the deposit interface and use the provided address. Your balance will update automatically. Please refer to the table at the start of this article to see which assets are available for deposit and withdrawal on what chain.
How do I withdraw to one of these Ethereum L2’s or a blockchain other than Ethereum?
When withdrawing, select the asset you wish to withdraw then choose the network you wish to withdraw too. Please refer to the table at the start of this article to see which assets are available for deposit and withdrawal on what chain. Enter the destination address and confirm your withdrawal.¹
Is my deposit address different?
Your deposit address is the same across all Ethereum-compatible networks (Avalanche, Ethereum, Optimism, Arbitrum, and Base).
However, Solana uses a different address format (SPL), so you must select Solana in the deposit flow before using the address provided.
How quickly will my transactions complete?
Deposits and withdrawals on Optimism, Arbitrum, Base, Avalanche, and Solana typically complete within a few minutes. Solana transfers, in particular, are usually confirmed within seconds. Ethereum mainnet transactions can take longer and cost more.
Are these networks as secure as Ethereum?
All networks supported by Gemini are widely trusted and secure. Each network has slightly different risk profiles compared to Ethereum’s main network, and Gemini continuously monitors network conditions to safeguard customer assets.
Can deposits on these networks be reversed?
Deposits on Layer 2 networks (Optimism, Arbitrum, Base, and Avalanche) may not be fully finalized for up to seven days, and in rare cases, transactions could potentially be reverted. To minimize risk, Gemini monitors large deposits closely.
Deposits on Solana typically finalize within seconds and are irreversible once confirmed on-chain.
1 Multichain ETH & USDC withdrawals are not available for clients based in the EU & EEA, UK or Singapore. This is due to Travel Rule requirements. Please see Travel Rule for more information.
2 Multi-chain withdrawals are not available via the API yet, but it is on our roadmap. At present, If you are withdrawing via the API then ETH, USDT and USDC can only be withdrawn on Ethereum.
