Overview
Gemini’s Address Book feature (previously known as “Approved Addresses”) is a list of known external cryptocurrency addresses for your Gemini account, each designated for a specific crypto asset. It allows you to store and manage multiple wallet destinations with clear labels, making withdrawals simpler and more confident.
Additionally, the Address Book includes security features such as Withdrawal Protection, which can impose a 7-day waiting period for newly added addresses on single-user accounts, and dual-control approval for multi-user accounts. These security measures help ensure that only verified addresses can be used for withdrawals, providing extra protection for your funds.
How do I add an address?
To add a new address,
- Go to the Settings in your Gemini account
- Choose Address Book
- Click on the Add address button
- Provide address details
- Click Continue to save
Single-User Accounts
If you’re the only user on your account, you can freely add a supported cryptocurrency address to your Address Book. Once added, this address is instantly available for future withdrawals—unless you have opted into Withdrawal Protection, which may apply a 7-day approval period for newly-added addresses. (See details in What’s withdrawal protection)
Multi-User Accounts
For accounts with multiple users, only administrators or managers can add new addresses. After an administrator or manager adds a new address, a second administrator or manager must approve it and wait for the 7-day hold to pass (See details in What’s withdrawal protection)
If you have multiple Gemini accounts (e.g., a master account plus sub-accounts), ensure you choose the correct account when creating a new Address Book entry. Selecting Master applies that address to all of your sub-accounts, while selecting an individual sub-account will limit that address to that specific account.
If you already have other addresses in the Address Book, you can still withdraw to those existing addresses while the newly requested address is pending approval (if required).
Singapore Customers
If you’re a customer in Singapore, you must complete additional verification steps when adding addresses to your Address Book.
You’ll first be asked whether the address is a self-hosted wallet or an exchange address.

You can verify ownership using either a Small Deposit Test or Signature Test.
