In order to comply with the MiCA (Markets in Crypto-Assets) regulatory framework, the following stablecoins will no longer be available for trading or deposits within Gemini for EU and EEA customers* after 28th February 2025:
DAI
GUSD
USDT
PAXG
Why Are We Taking These Actions?
These changes ensure we are taking the necessary steps to remain compliant with the latest rules in your region and uphold our strong commitment to regulatory compliance. To learn more about MiCA regulations, read this blog.
What Do I Need to Do?
You can continue trading these tokens until 28th February 2025, but we encourage all users holding these tokens to exchange these into a MiCA-compliant stablecoin or another token before this date. If you are not currently holding any of these tokens we encourage you not to trade or hold them.
Any non-MiCA-compliant stablecoins held in your wallet that are not exchanged before 28th February 2025 will continue to be held in your Gemini wallet. The only action you will be able to perform after this date will be to transfer the stablecoin to another third-party wallet.
