You may be unable to link your debit card for a few different reasons. The questions below may help troubleshoot common reasons for why this can occur.
Is this a business or personal debit card?
At this time only personal debit cards are supported on the Gemini exchange.
Is your card a credit card?
In order to provide the best experience on the Gemini exchange, we are not able to provide support for credit cards at this time. We are not able to provide a timeline on if we will add this feature, but if we do we will be sure to let our users know.
Is the debit card a Mastercard or a Visa?
Gemini only accepts Visa and Mastercard debit cards. Visa and Mastercard debit cards are accepted in all of Gemini’s areas of availability.
Is the debit card a prepaid card?
At this time we are not able to accept prepaid debit cards.
Does the address you are entering match what your bank has on file?
If the address you are entering does not match what your bank has on file, this can cause issues with the card verification. Please confirm with your bank and enter the address exactly as your bank has it.
Does your debit card have a card verification code or security code? (This is a three or four digit number located on the card directly.)
In order for your debit card to be accepted, you must have a card verification code or security code.
Does your debit card have an expiration date?
An expiration date is required to link your debit card.
Have you tried using a different web browser?
If you are unable to enter your debit card information on the web interface, please try using a different web browser.
